The Journal of the Acoustical Society of India (JASI) is the refereed journal of the Acoustical Society of India — a non-profit national society founded on 31 July 1971 at Visakhapatnam. The Society's primary objective is to advance the science of acoustics by creating an organization responsive to the needs of scientists and engineers working in all branches of acoustics.
The first issue, JASI Vol. 1 No. 1, was published in January 1973 and carried the full text of the Memorandum of Association and Rules & Regulations of the newly constituted Society. The journal has been published since on the Society's editorial programme, with volume 43 appearing in 2016 according to international library catalogs.
Papers presented at the Society's National Symposium on Acoustics may be selected for publication in JASI, as took place for the 52nd edition (IISA 2025), with selected articles also appearing in Springer lecture proceedings.
Submission enquiries and editorial correspondence continue to be routed through the Society Secretariat.
